The YOW! New Voices in Tech speaker development program is part of our effort to encourage gender diversity in tech conference speakers. Submissions are open to anyone living in Australia who identifies as a woman and selected participants receive a full day training workshop with technical speaking expert Damian Conway. The intent is to enable women in technology to become more engaged in the industry, reach their goals and achieve more of their potential.
YOW! is always looking for talented women speakers for our events and we are pleased that a number of “graduates” from this workshop have gone on to become YOW! speakers.
To make the workshop more accessible to participants, we are going to alternate the city location each year. The 2019 workshop will be held in Melbourne on Wednesday 29 May. Participants must be available to attend the full day and come prepared to deliver a 10 minute presentation.
Submit your application by sending us a 200 word abstract and brief bio on the technical topic you would like to present in the workshop and potentially share with our YOW! community. All entries will be assessed by an independent committee.
Help us spread the word and refer the program to the great women technologists or innovators you know! If you have previously submitted an application and you were not successful, we welcome you to submit again.
Submissions close Sunday 31 March 2019.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome during the week of 22 April.
If you would like to participate but you are unsure about how to write your proposal, consider joining the Global Diversity CFP Day in your city (2nd March 2019)
